How do I code the fancybox so that when it pops up upon clicking on an image in the “portfolio-thumbnails” page i can scroll through multiple images? I can’t seem to find a way so that it’s a slideshow of multiple images rather than just one image.

You will edit this file (or whatever theme you want to use): portfolio-thumbnails.php

Then just change this code in the HTML from:
    class="fancylightbox"

    to

    rel="portfolio"

and that's it :-). Note: You only need to update it in one spot.

You have updated the files. It still shows class="fancylightbox" . Make sure to view the source to make sure your files have been updated.

    Hey Mike!
I'm still trying to get a hang of the theme. So far I'm excited about the changes I was able to make and getting the site where I want it to.

However I'm still trying to figure out the portfolio part of it.

In this page for example: http://lineairedesign.com/?page_id=161

All I want to do is have project (just like the green boxes) with a thumbnail and a little description but when people click on it have the lightbox gallery.

It works but as you see the one I added, all the inserted images on the portfolio page show up and is a mess.

Is there something I should do in the portfolio post page for them?

Is there a better way around it?

    That's all.

    Thanks!

Great job so far with the theme Mauricio!

There is an option in the theme options under Basic tab: "Portfolio: Do you want to link to the full size portfolio image?". Just switch that to no and the portfolio index will link to a post page where you can add more information and images. That is the only way to add multiple images per post. Otherwise you will need to have one image per post* like our examples.

    Mike, Thanks for the tip.

I tried what you suggested but it takes me to an additional page. I like better the way I had it where you see a small thumbnail and the project number and a slideshow pop after click. What I don't like is that the black strip with the descriptions extends all the way down and include all the image sin a weird way. Is that possible to fix?

    Thanks!

I see, was a bit confused at first. You can hide the gallery images if you don't want them to show. Just add this custom css:

    #gallery-1 {display:none;}

This will hide the thumbnails at the bottom BUT still allow them to show up in the lightbox next/previous buttons. Let me know if that will solve your issue.

    Awesome! Thanks for that.
It is pretty close. Is there a way to make or keep the black box underneath the thumbnail the same size as the sample ones on the right? Just to keep it proportionate.

all I want it to say is example : Unit 5703 and the thumbnail so it looks clean small yet elegant.

    Thanks!

Yeah it's getting there but something is throwing off the alignment. Compared your post to the example portfolio posts before. There must be a stray link or something that is throwing the alignment off. Perhaps a unclosed div as well.

    Hi.
I would like to show the gallery of the post (portfolio item) at the fancybox. What I should do? Is it possible? For example: I create a portfolio item to a work, and this work has more images, so instead of have many portfolio items to the same work you can scroll through multiple images.

The rel="portfoliochange makes you scroll through the type images.
    Thank you.

Hi, I´m trying to find the way to display some information about the pic at the fancybox. Thanks.

If you want to use a pop-up box on the post pages, we recommend this plugin:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/fancybox-for-wordpress/

You can adjust the settings to add captions and a next/previous scroll.

Thank you. It helped with caption settings. Now I would like to find a way to solve my first question. I´ll try to explain my doubt in a better way. I have a page set like portfolio-thumbnails, Inside each portfolio item I have a gallery with some pics. I would like the fancybox could show the pics of each portfolio item separately. just like happens when we use the scrolling-portfolio.

    For example, I have:

    Cinema (main menu)
    - art direction (page)
    - work 1 (portfolio item) with 4 pics inside the gallery
    - work 2 (portfolio item) with 5 pics inside the gallery
    etc.

I would like that clicking on the thumbnail of work1 I could show the sequence of pics of work1. Then clicking on the thumbnail of Work2 I should show the sequence of pics of work2. All this using the portfolio-thumbnails page model.

ps. I don´t want to use the scrolling-portfolio page model because of the horizontal navigation. I really prefer the thumbnail page layout.

Is it possible? I can´t set the plugin galleries tab by myself, or insert jQuery codes.

    Thank you.

You should be able to do that with the post page. The 3rd party plugin will have an option to have images open up in the lightbox automatically on your post page. You can set grids easily using word press's default media loader.

If you need an additional level above the initial portfolio and then post, that is not supported.

Sorry, if I insist. I'm new on it and not so good with your idioma. I'm sending you the url to illustrate what I mean. http://www.quartinho.com.br/wpquartinho/direcao-de-arte-c/
Each pic you see in there is a job. clicking in each image I would like to show more pics of the same job (using the gallery we have inside the post item./featured image/gallery).

    Thank you again.

No worries, I'm happy to help. Go under Theme Options > Basic Tab. Near the bottom there is an option to make your portfolio images to link to the post on the index. On the post page you can insert multiple images.

If you wanted the index to pop-up like it does now but with next/previous links to the gallery inside... that is not possible.

:( yeah that's it. I would like to do with fancybox and not with a page. so it's not possible. Thank you.

    Hey Mike,
I'm still trying to get the site ready but I'm having an issue with the galleries for the portfolio.

So, I'm adding projects as you can see here: http://lineairedesign.com/?page_id=161

and I just want the user to click on the image of each project and see the gallery of images of that project. But, when I click on any of them, the fancy box gallery mixes them up and don't show them separately.

I'm adding images on the Portolio (post) section inside the Porfolio Options in the "Background Image(s)" box all separated by a comma (no space). Btw, all of these images, I uploaded them to the media gallery and I'm just copy/pasting their urls.

On the right side I'm just selecting on image from the media gallery and setting it as default.

Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

second question: How do I change the background of the box where the project name appears "Marquis Unit 1701 etc" the box and the font color size?

    Thank you!
    M.
