When I use the media uploader to upload a file, I then copy the file URL and then add the URL to the Background Images(s) field as per your instructions. I've tried a couple of different images and nothing will show up.
Do the images need to be a specific width and height or some other specific that I should know?
I've changed the permissions on the two folders and still have the same issue. Looks like I need to contact my hosting provider and have them remove the block of that TimThumb image resizing script...is that correct?
My host (mediatemple) told me they could not unblock the version of timthumb found in the theme because of a known exploit. However, they did point me to the newer version. I replaced the file with it and now all is well. I'm not sure if there has been a theme update that I missed, but in case you need to replace it, the new version can be found here and doesn't break anything:
That is in relation to an older version of TimThumb. Looks like MediaTemple is just being a bit overcautious and requiring an even newer version of TimThumb (Which is good but shouldn't be required).
The vulnerabilities referred to in articles are in response to an older version of TimThumb. Either way, you can always update timthumb by just replacing the code so it's nice and easy if you want to use the latest version.
