Check out the documentation section "Search and CMS". It will briefly explain the blog comments and publishing. Site Templates are just static files that don't have the ability to store things in a database. The blog comments are there for styling if you want to implement a CMS. Also, the styles are added for easy WordPress conversion.

wasn't much of anything in the documentation. I do have WordPress running on my site, but know very little about the setup. It's setting up a page on the site and I only want the blog comments to show inside your page at blog.html.

Can you give me an idea of how to setup the WP into the page?

Yeah, it's just a brief run-down point you in the right direction and explanation of the files provided. You will have to convert the files yourself or purchase the WordPress version of the site.
