Any update on this? When selecting a featured image, it automatically makes a thumbnail from the image, and in doing so it often cuts off the face of the person in the image. How can I change the thumbnail for each featured image? Thanks

I would suggest this plugin... I have never used this plugin but it seems that it does what you want

Let me know how it works... or if it doesn't I can suggest something else... there is not much control over the thumbnails....
